Miss Illinois Teen Galaxy 2014

Last weekend, I was crowned Miss Illinois Teen Galaxy 2014. I scored the highest total amount of points in my division for interview, photogenic, bathing suit, fun fashion, and gown in order to win the crown. I am not only thankful for this opportunity, but I am excited to use it as a way to promote diabetes research and the American Diabetes Association. I will be competing in August for the International Galaxy title and I hope to be the first diabetic Miss Teen Galaxy International queen. I was able to perform my best during the weekend by testing my blood sugar before each stage of competition and eating high-protein meals.
